Spending time with Gem as undergrads at Durham and the years that followed was always full of joy. She introduced me to ghd hair straightener which were, in the early 2000s, a complete game changer! Gem was always so kind and managed to find hope and positivity in the hardest of circumstances. May she rest in peace, free of suffering.
